WE’VE ALL BEEN THERE. “Maybe I should start wearing more colour!” before you try on that magenta turtleneck and realise that you were probably being a little too ambitious. You shrink back into the armour that is one of the sixteen black sweatshirts you own.

Um. Stop. If there is a time when a pop of colour is very much needed, it is Winter Quarter. When your surroundings are dark, rainy and bleak (it even hailed the other day… what the actual hell), a little colour goes a long way. Trawl through a thrift store, such as Savers in Redwood City (a short 15 minute drive from campus), to find some absolute steals that will break your streak of boring without breaking the bank. A pop of colour elevates any outfit that is otherwise monochrome. Maybe finally you’ll be groovy enough to pull off the “posing in a public bathroom” look you’ve been dreaming of.
