Hyderabad: Man dies by suicide after heated financial argument

Hyderabad: A 43-year-old lorry driver who was allegedly assaulted by a man named Pasila Durga Prasad over financial circumstances ended his life by dousing petrol over himself and setting ablaze in Yardi Giri Nagar Yousufguda.

According to Madhura Nagar police victim K Suryanarayana after a quarrel with Durga Prasad on Sunday bought petrol in a can from a nearby petrol pump doused over himself and set ablaze in front of Durga Prasad’s house, Madhura Nagar police said.

On being informed, the victim’s cousin Sirla Bharath Kumar rushed to the scene and shifted the victim to OGH where he died while undergoing treatment, police said.

The victim, a lorry driver, belonged to Anandapuram village of Vishakapetnam and was staying in a men’s Goutami men’s hostel in Nanakramguda.

After the victim’s postmortem at OGH his body was handed to his family members on Monday. His body has been taken to his native place for last rites.
