Scott Mills has issued a cautionary note to the UK’s new Eurovision act, advising them to isolate themselves from Rylan Clark.

During his Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2, Scott spoke to the UK’s new Eurovision Song Contest entrants, Remember Monday, a pop trio hoping to clinch European victory with their song, ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’.

The 69th Eurovision is scheduled for May this year in Basel, Switzerland, where Remember Monday will strive to surpass Olly Alexander’s 18th place finish with his song, Dizzy, in the previous year’s contest.

Scott’s Radio 2 co-worker, Rylan Clark, is reportedly eager to meet the Eurovision hopefuls. Scott relayed a message from the Dating Naked UK star, who expressed his anticipation for a “night out with the girls”.

Scott said: “Our Rylan’s been on. ‘Tell them I can’t wait for a night out with the girls’, leading to an excited reaction from the singers, but Scott had some words of caution.

He continued: “Look at me. In the week of Eurovision, we can all have a night out before that. In the week of Eurovision, lock yourself in your room and if Rylan tries to contact you in any way, going, ‘Aw, let’s go on; let’s have one’, do not do that.

He concluded with a stern warning: “Not one because I…let me tell you, from past experience, it doesn’t go well, and if I see you with him, I will be moving you away from him, alright?”.

The BBC reports that the trio Remember Monday, consisting of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steel, self-identify as “pop girlies with a little bit of yeehaw”.

Their song, What The Hell Just Happened?, was a collaborative effort involving Billen Ted, Thomas Stengaard and Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard.

Billen Ted has previously worked with prominent artists such as Little Mix and Anne Marie. Moreover, Thomas Stengaard has tasted Eurovision victory before, having penned the winning 2013 Danish entry ‘Only Teardrops’, while Julie ‘Kill J’ Aagaard is recognised as a multi-platinum songwriter.

Television personality Rylan, known for his stints on The X Factor, Celebrity Big Brother and This Morning, and a previous Eurovision host, has been reported to cover Radio 2’s Eurovision events alongside fan Scott. In a news update linked to his career, Rylan has snagged a guest spot on the latest Doctor Who series, playing a host in a fictionalised Eurovision called the Interstellar Song Contest.

He stated: “As a massive Whovian, getting the call to be in Doctor Who was a call I’ve always dreamed of getting. The episode is all my favourite things about the show with an added song contest set in space. It really is a dream come true. I can’t wait for everyone to see it. It is going to be out of this world.”
